Phithi Theraphisek (a ceremony of sprinkle water) for Pha Khamchan Virachitta Maha Thela, Abbot of Vat Saen Sukharam on his 76th Birthday Celebration at the Sim of Vat Saen Sukharam on October 22, 1996. This photograph represents important senior monks of Luang Prabang and from Vientiane walk out of the Sim to sprinkle water for Pha Khamchan while lay people sitting and holding cottoned flags, candles and incenses along the two edges of the way to pay a homage to them. The monk walking in front is Pha One Ta Santapanyo, Abbot of Vat Manolom Sattharam, Vice-president of the Provincial Buddhist Fellowship Organization of Luang Prabang. Chromogenic print.
