Sathou Khamlor Rattanayano while studying in Bangkok, Thailand, before he immigrated to New Zealand. He stopped to be a monk and he is now in Texas, USA. This photo was taken while he was paying respect to the urn of the corpse of the Sangharaj Dhammayana Mahathera (Bounthan Boupharat), His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of Laos, who passed away in Bangkok, Thailand. Thai monks and officials of the Kingdom of Thailand were paying respect, and the cremation ceremony took place at the main pyre at Vat Thebsarintharavat, Bangkok, Thailand, on the 9th of March, 1985. Sathou Khamlor Rattanayano sent this photo to Sathou Nyai Saysamout Chotiko, Abbot of Vat Pa Phon Phao, Luang Prabang, as a souvenir.
