Phra That Khuang Santi Chedee Stupa during construction work in 1979. The sand stupas and decorated flags around the stupa show that Vat Pa Phon Phao had just finished Boun Mahachath (the festival of Prince Vessantara). Boun Mahachath at Phra That Khuang Santi Chedee at Vat Pa Phon Phao is held from the 14th day of the waxing moon to the 1st day of the waning moon of Deuan Nyee (2nd month of the Buddhist calendar) every year.
