Reproduction of a painted (?) portrait of Grandfather Ajan La Oupatikadabot of Vat Pa Muang near Ban Xieng Maen, Chomphet District, Luang Prabang. He was the father of Sathou Nyai Bounchan Keophothichitto, Abbot of Vat Xieng Muan. He passed away at the age of 76 in 1926 at Vat Pa Muang. Grandfather Ajan La was a hermit with concentration and he was a respected lay person for the people of Luang Prabang. This photo was taken in the 1920s.
