The nomination of Sathouyai Mao Manivangso the abbot of Vat Xiengthong to be Phra Samdeth was nominated by Chao Khana Khoueng Luangprabang(High ecclesiastical rank in the religious hierarchy of Luangprabang) and the governor of Luangprabang in 1961.It was written that:Chao khana khoueng Luangprabang and the governor of Luangprabang agreed with the position in Budhhism nomination of the king and the monk sprinkling water certificate No 63 dated 8th March 1951 and the selection note dated 25th May 1961 that Sathouyai Mao Manivangso is 40 years old and he has been being a monk for 12 years who is the venerable monk in Buddhism,so we nominated Sathouyai Mao Manivangso,the abbot of Vat Xiengthong to be Phra Samdeth Mao Manivangso from 29th May 1961,B.E.2504.Luangprabang on 29th May 1961.Chao khana khoueng Luangprabang.Phra Lakkhamviravisouthikhoun Khamchanh Virachitto.The governor of Luangprabang.Sadethchao Chanhtharangsi.
