Alms-giving ceremony in 1990s.Sathouyai Mao Manivangso,the abbot of Wat Xiengthong,and the other monks and novices were receiving alms(sticky rice) from the lay people along Sisavangvong Road.Going out for alms receiving is the important routine for monks and novices because there are both advantages for monks,novices and lay people.Monks and novices can get sticky and food to eat for their daily lives,and lay people can make merit for themselves and follow the Buddhism.
