Vat Xieng Thong.the view infront,was build in 1560 by King Sethathirat.in previous there was a big tree in the back(Thong tree).large 27 linears,tall 117 linears,(measure using body).Vat Xieng Thong named from the Thong tree.and was main temple under royal patronage by every King until 1975.Hall Tai built in 1828.Hall Kong built in1961.this was only Luangprabang Vat spared by the 1887 Black Flag Haw sacking of the city.This photo was taken in 1954.
