Sathou Nyai Khamchan Virachitto, the abbot of Vat Saen Soukharam, at the age of 40, practised Thoudong meditation (the thirteen practises od ascetic monk) in the forest at Ban Xieng Maen, Chomphet district, Luang Prabang in 1960.
