Khamchan Virachit (Sathou Nyai Khamchan Virachitta Mahathera) at the age of 19. This photograph was taken at Ban Jek, Luang Prabang, when he was riding a bicycle to do his business in 1939. This bicycle came from Saigon, Vietnam, bought at the price of 65 Kips. There were only five bicycles in Luang Prabang at that time.
