From Lima, of the Order of Saint Francis of Paul, the last Bishop of this Holy Church of Guatemala. He was elected in 1735 and arrived on September 22, 1738. In 1743 he was promoted to become the first Archbishop through a Papal Bull issued by Benedict XIV on December 16, 1742. He governed until February 2, 1753 when he died at the Shrine of Esquipulas where he was buried. In his place His Grace Doctor Brother Ignacio Padilla was appointed from the Order of Saint Augustine, Archbishop of Saint Dominic, but he resigned.
