From the mountains of Oviedo, Priest of Santiago de Guatemala, first Bishop who governed this Holy Church, after the resignation of Reverend Father Brother Domingo Betanzos of the order of Saint Dominic, he was elected on December 18, 1533 and he built and founded it on the basis of a Papal Bull from Paul, governing until April 18, 1563, when he died; he was buried in the Holy Cathedral Church.
