The 8-inch Bache Doublet building, seen facing south-east. The roof is open and the upper part of the telescope and mount is visible. The telescope is dark in colour, and is on a fork mount. To the right (south) is the building of the Herbst (Pulkovo) Transit. In the midground are three roughly circular circles of rocks. Near the leftmost one, a dog is seen.
