Early view of telescope enclosures being built

Early view of the Boyden Observatory site, seen from near the position of the 60-inch looking north-west. In the centre of the frame is the 13-inch building. The brickwork is exposed, the I-beams to carry the roof are in place, but several of the pillars have not yet been built. At the left edge, part of the Metcalf building can be seen (pillars and runoff-roof frame). In the background, part of the Administrative Building is visible. On the far right, the south pier of the Bruce Telescope can be seen. Prominent in the foreground is a light-coloured conical tent. Low bushes are closely scattered across the surrounding terrain, which is rocky in places. n/a. Extent: 1 photograph. Size and dimensions of original material: Height 21cm, width 31cm.
