These text is about the story of Malavisai at the time before the Buddha's enlightenment (when he was a Phasamma Samphothiyan).There was one king of the Maras known as Phanyaman who was able to get close enough to the Buddha to utter threats and use magical force to disturb his practice, but the Buddha did not waver; instead, he concentrated even more, standing firmly in his endeavor until Phanyaman's power was no more and he could no longer do any harm to the Buddha.
