This is one of three collections of ecclesiastical records digitised by the EAP955 project team in three different Cuban cities.
This collection contains three types of registry books: Two (2) Volumes of Baptisms (Bautismos de Color), One (1) of Entierros (burial records), and One (one) volume of Reconocimientos de Hijos Naturales (Recognitions of Paternity). See the individual listing documents for each volume for more information.
Custodial history: The current archivst reported that he was unaware, aside from the a few volumes that have come from other cities or contributing churches, whether the archival contents have ever been out of the church, but he doubts that they have.
Owner(s) of original material: Bishopric of Santa Clara.
Arrangement: Books are arranged, generally, by type (baptisms, marriages, confirmations, deaths) and by date and volume number, when known.
Additional language information: Mainly Spanish with occasional Latin.
Image quality: Some of the images provided to EAP by the project team were corrupted and replacement images have not been provided. Some images are not oriented correctly for reading.
