The Library of Birsingha Vidyasagar Memorial Hall Rural Library, Birsingha, Ghatal, Paschim Medinipur

Custodial history: Established in the year of 1961 this library is a memorial house of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, a well known educationist and social reformer of British India. Birsingha is the birthplace of Vidyasagar. Many books are found which Vidyasagar used to read and gave a foot note on the book pages. Apart from this many manuscripts are also found. They provide all the facilities which can be possible for a rural library to its readers or members.

Administrative context: The CSSSC, on realising the importance of copying the collection applied for a grant to the EAP against which EAP921 has been awarded.
