The earliest reference to public registration of records in The Bahama Archipelago which including the Turks and Caicos Islands 1764 and includes the creation of a separate office of the Register of Records in 1862. These records include registration of Births, Deaths (Burials), and Probate Wills.
These records are currently in microfilm form. The original historic records can not be found at any government facility.
