A coleção reúne documentos em formato processo, manuscrito, escrito em língua portuguesa, referente ao período imperial e alguns republicanos, pertencente ao Cartório da Primeira Vara da Comarca de Mamanguape, Paraíba, Brasil. Os documentos estão distribuídos nas Seriess: Juízo Comercial (1866-1899) que abordam Justificação de embargo, ação de crédito, libelo cível de embargo, ação de despejo, carta de sentença de ação ordinária comercial, libelo cível de dívida, falência, entre outros; Juízo de Órfãos (1850-1898) que contempla procurações e prestações de contas de tutores; Ações Criminais (1870-1908); Inventários e testamentos (1846-1918); Ações Cíveis (1863-1899). The collection has documents in the forms of legal proceedings, manuscript, written in Portuguese, referring to the imperial period and some of the republican period. It belongs to the Registry of First Jurisdiction of Mamanguape, Paraiba, Brazil. The documents are distributed into the following series: Commercial Court (1866-1899), dealing with embargo justification, credit action, civil bill of indictment, eviction order, sentence letter of ordinary commercial action, civil bill of indictment for debt, bankruptcy, among others; Court of Orphans (1850-1898) that deals with powers of attorney and rendering of accounts from tutors; Criminal Actions (1870-1908); Inventory and testament (1846-1918); Civil Actions (1863-1899). Custodial history: Documents from the District of Mamanguape, created in the 19th century, possibly when it became Vila in 1839. The area consists of the city of Mamanguape before it became autonomous from the capital city which belonged to the District and City of Paraíba. The Court of the Province of Paraíba belonged to the district of the Bahia Court of Appeals, and after 1831 to the Pernambucan Court of Appeals. It was only in 1891, with the advent of the Republic, that the Tribunal of Justice from Paraíba was created, a branch of the justice sytem found at the state level. The existing documentation is found in the Miguel Levino de Oliveira Ramos Forum Archive, in the District of Managuape. It was produced by the First Judicial Court and that of extra-judicial notary's offices. Extent and format of original material: 5 series. Physical characteristics: It contains tears, acidity from the ferrogallic ink, sheets corroded by insects, damage to the sheets which causes difficulties in reading, sheets damaged by dirt and water, fold marks, new folder.
