Abdul Qadir Rind Manuscript Collection

Mr. Abdul Qadir Rind (1963-) is the owner of Jam Durrak Kitab Jah (Jam Durrak Private Library) in Dhadar Town where his manuscript collection is housed. He has added to his grandfather's bequest by acquiring more manuscripts. The collection mostly contains printed manuscripts from the colonial period, especially those published by the Maktaba Durkhan (Durkhani School), an Islamic revivalist movement that sought to counter Christian Missionary propaganda in colonial Balochistan. The manuscripts in this collection contain some of the earliest translations and exegeses of the Holy Quran and didactic religious literature in Balochi and Brahui languages. The langugeas of the manuscripts are Arabic, Persian, Balochi, and Brahui. Extent of original material: 11 manuscripts.
