El Deber

“El Deber” is a printed periodical edited from 1890 to 1962 in Arequipa, Peru. It is one of the most important politically conservative newspapers ever issued in this country. It showed an intense local political debate in 19th-20th centuries on polemical Church-State topics such as mandatory civil marriage, legalization of divorce, secularization of education, religious intolerance, confiscation of ecclesiastical assets, and many affairs on social ethics. It was edited in Spanish.
