Rajaraja Varma Collection of Palm Leaf Manuscripts [16th century]

16th Century manuscripts available for scanning, Occupation of the family was performing poojas in the temples. They also undertake consecration of deities, purificatory Rituals in the temples, Magic and associated Rituals etc. They are agriculturists having gardens of different plantations. They are descendants of the Royal family, the present custodian Rajaraja Varma has acquired the Palm leaf manuscripts from his ancestors. It is believed that these manuscripts had brought from Kozhikode when Kozhikode royal family was under a threat of Tipu Sultan’s conquer during 1770. Main Subjects include Literature, Folklore, Ayurveda and Rites.
