The collection consists of digital copies of Wolofal (Wolof Ajami) manuscripts copied as part of the EAP 334 project. The manuscripts have been digitized from handwritten copies of Serigne Samba Diarra Mbaye's work.
Physical characteristics of original material: Images in this collection were captured using digital photography. Most pages are readable. However, due to the age of the documents and ink stains, some pages may be hard to read.
2 sets of bound paper manuscripts of 355 pages consisting of 192 pages in Wolof Ajami (Wolofal) and 163 pages in Arabic copied from Serigne Samba Diarra Mbaye's original work. According to the owner, the original Arabic materials were written around 1903 in Mauritania, and the Wolof Ajami (Wolofal) materials were written around 1907 in Saint-Louis, Senegal.
