Yas-Noriega Fund [1895-1950]

Monuments of Antigua Guatemala (churches, convents, hermitages, parroquías) that allow us to explore the ruins of this city as they were in the late 19th century and early 20th; other words, without the damage caused by earthquakes in 1917-18 , 1942 and 1976, and before many of them were destroyed. There is a considerable amount of portraits of people belonging to different social strata of Antigua Guatemala, among which the popular types, as well as the genre of mortuory portrait and religious images. It is also possible to find images that portray the daily life, customs of the community antigüeña, coffee farms and their surroundings. It also includes a small amount of images of landscapes and architecture of Guatemala City, Chimaltenango, Quiché and Sololá.
