Inquisivi [1846-1914]

It contains the register of the population of this Province that lived in the communities and in the "haciendas" (large private states) and continued paying, as in the Colonial Period, a state tax known as the "indigenal contribution", amounting as much as 40% of the state total income. In this territorial jusrisdiction are the following Cantons: Inquisivi, Ichoca (Ychoca), Mohoza, Cavari, Suri, Colquiri, Circuata, Capiñata, Charapaxi, Escola, Quime, Cajuata and Caluyo.

It was created due to the split of the Yungas and Sicasica Provinces. It was called Montenegro Province, according to the Decree of July 16 1838. By the Decree of December 4 1866 it was called the Inquisivi Province.
