Muñecas [1842-1929]

It contains the register of the population of thisProvince that lived in the communities and in the "haciendas" (large private states) and continued paying, as in the Colonial Period, a state tax known as the "indigenal contribution", amounting as much as 40% of the state total income. In this territorial jusrisdiction are the following Cantons: Chuma, Ayata, Aucapata, Camata, Curva, Charasani (Charazani), Italaque (Italaqui), Mocomoco, Ambaná, Ilabaya, Timusi, Luquisani, Tuiluni, Amarete, and Chullina. There are also the following cantons: Apolobamba, Aten, Ixiamas, Pata, Pelechuco, San Buenaventura, San Cruz del Valle Ameno, Tumupasa and Ulla Ulla belonging to the jurisdiction of the Caupolican Province.

This Province was created after the division of the Larecaja Province (Law of Octuber 18 1826).
