The rGyud, or tantric section of the Kanjur, is a comprehensive collection of tantric texts attributed to the historical Buddha and other forms of Buddha. These texts explore esoteric practices such as yoga, deity visualization, mantras, mudras, postures, mandalas, and meditation, which form the core of syncretic tantric traditions. This collection, comprising 18 volumes, is presented in a loose poti format, with each text inscribed in uchen script using black ink on cream-colored Bhutanese handmade paper. The first page of each volume is decorated with gold ink on dark blue paper, featuring two illustrations of Buddha Shakyamuni, elegantly positioned on the left and right margins of the first page of the first volume. Regarded as a sacred relic, the rGyud collection is carefully preserved within the Dzong fortress, housed on newly constructed wooden bookshelves. Each volume is meticulously wrapped in layers of cloth, secured between two protective wooden boards, and fastened with a belt. This preservation method reflects the profound reverence and care given to the collection, ensuring its sanctity and longevity for future generations.

Extent: 18 volumes of manuscripts.
