The Manuscripts Collection contains documentation from Jamaica, Antigua, Barbados, Carriacou, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent. The current inventory focuses on manuscripts from 1672 through 1800. The Collection comprises documents pertaining to slavery, maritime trade, private journals and letters, plantation papers, maps and civil records (i.e., wills and last testaments). A large portion of the materials focus on the English-speaking Caribbean, although there are documents in French.
