The library of Bukhara Masjid in Chavakkad is one of the richest collections of rare old docuemnts in Malabar. This library is under the custodianship of Bukharis, a family belived to have come from Bukhara in Central Asia.The possessions of this library include seminal texts in fiqh, tasawwuf and talsamat. The digitized documents include mainly texts of architecture, astronomy and zakat. This collection was not identified in the previous survey. The mosque authority has expressed its willingness to digitize the collection.
Custodial history: Most of the works were taught in the dars as text books. This colelction is built mainly with the materials purchased or donated by others.
Arrangement: The collection is not well preserved, kept in shelves without any care given to the materials. No proper classifcation and cataloguing schemes have been followed.
