Islahul Uloom Arabic College, Thanur one of the oldest institutions established for the study of Islamic sciences in South India is a rich repository of rare documents in Arabic and Arabi-Malayalam languages under their possession. The collection includes mostly texts of fiqh, tasawwuf, astronomy, talsamat and Islamic sciences. The works which fall under the categories of mathematical traditions deal mainly with text of inheritance, zakat, astronomy etc.
Custodial history: Most of the works were taught in the dars as text books. This colelction is built mainly with the materials purchased or donated by others.
Arrangement: Preserved, but not scientifically, kept in shelves. No proper classifcation and cataloguing schemes have been followed.
