Rescuing and organising Church, Merchant and Burial Records of Lokoja, Northern Nigeria, 1841-1960. This project proposes to digitise and document a collection of three kinds of endandered materials in the Lokoja area of Nigeria dated between 1841 and 1960. These include; the ecclesistical records of the Lokoja Anglican and Catholic church; the commercial records of the early European trading companies; the burial records of European / African missionaries, soldiers and administrators refracted from the epitaphs in the colonial cemeteries and those housed in the National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) under State Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Others include private / official correspondence, judiciary / prison reports, marriage registers, logbooks etc. These materials provide unique information that do not exist elsewhere.

Custodial history: Kogi State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Catholic Diocese of Lokoja, Anglican Diocese of Lokoja are the custodians of the archival material.
