He is from Munaikaddu, Batticaloa. He says that he got these manuscript from his paternal inheritance and they can be identified as manuscripts from the 18th and 19th century. A member of his lineage named Vikhathambi Chatriyar Krisnapillai says that his father Ganapathiyar Vellathambi has been preserving these manuscripts since 1950s and after his death in 1985.
