MadaniMali

Ceerno Madani Tall is the current custodian of the manuscripts recorded in his name and originally collected from Koniakari (Mali). The MadaniMali collection includes 3 unbound and bound manuscripts for a total of 1545 pages. They differ in sizes. One manuscript is originally written by Al Hajj Umar Taal. The other two are copies of manuscripts originally written by Arab Islamic scholars. Upon completion of digitization, all the manuscripts were relocated to Ceerno Madani’s library in Dakar. The content of the manuscripts cover various, including Creation, Islamic law, Islamic mysticism, Tijaniyya Sufism, marriage, and Islamic tradition.

Extent: collection of 3 manuscripts.

Custodial history: Ceerno Seydou Nourou Tall owned the mabuscript, which he inherited from his family. After his death, Mountaga Tall inherited it. After the latter's death, Madani Taal inherited the library. He is now the custodian of the entire manuscript holding.
