Film va Hunar was first published as a monthly under the direction of Ali Mortazavi in 1960 only 5 issues were published, distributed as a supplement in the Subh Imruz newspaper before it closed down. It briefly reopened in 1962 under the direction of Abdulmajid Ramazani publishing only 2 issues before closing again. It reopened in March 1964 as a weekly publication under the direction of Ali Murtazavi. It published reviews and critiques of Persian films as well as covering new directions in Persian cinema, profiles of foreign especially Italian directors as well as developments in world cinema. فیلم و هونار برای اولین بار به صورت ماهانه در سال ۱۳۴۰ منتشر شد و فقط ۵ شماره به عنوان ضمیمه ی روزنامه‌ی صبح امروز منتشر و توزیع شد و بد مجله تعطیل شد. دوباره در سال ۱۳۴۱ منتشر شد و فقط ۲ شماره منتشر شد قبل از آنکه دوباره بسته شود. باز برای بار سوم در سال ۱۳۴۳ بازگشایی شد. حاوی مقالاتی در مورد سینمای ایتالیایی ، ایالات متحده آمریکا ا وایران ، جنبه های فنی در ساخت فیلم، سینمای موج جدید، نقد فیلم و شهوانی در سینما.
