This collection consists of Portuguese manuscript documents from the Church of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda de Guapimirim, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It includes marriage records of enslaved people (1749-1762) and burial records of enslaved and free individuals (1744-1773). Custodial history: The volumes were produced by the Church of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda de Guapimirim. In accordance with local custom and Canonical Law, all documentation of a permanent nature produced by the Parish is transferred to the Archive of the Archdiocese of Niterói after 70 years.
