The collection consists of baptism, marriage and burial registers of the Pardos y Morenos inhabitants of Matanzas. The whole of the Fonds (held by the Catedral de Matanzas) contains all records of baptisms (Bautismos), burials (Entierros), marriages (Matrimonios) and out-of-wedlock births (Hijos Naturales) in the city of Matanzas. The records are organised in books (libros), divided into three categories: Blancos (whites), Indios (Natives) and Pardos y Morenos (Blacks). Only the Libros de Pardos y Morenos have been copied by the EAP proejct. The original volumes cover the dates 1719-1910.
