This text is a part of author’s encyclopaedic work on Dharmaśāstra called Smṛtiviveka, of which fourteen parts ending in ‘viveka’ are known. Prāyaścittaviveka is one of them that deals with the rules and rituals of expiation. Folios from 51-55 are missing. After folio 86, there is a stray folio numbered as 86 from the Śrāddhaviveka. Folios after 103 are missing. There is another stray folio after folio 103 at the end. The text of this stray folio is also related to Prāyaścitta; Complete / Incomplete: Incomplete MS. Sisir Bani Mandir was established at Guptipara in 1917. The library has a good collection of old Sanskrit and Bengali manuscripts and some rare books in different languages. Cuncura Bartabaha is one of the rarest collections of the library.
