It is one of the 18 Mahāpurāṇas and a canonical text of the Vaishnavas. It is divided into 12 chapters called Skandha. 10th Skandha is considered to be the lenghiest and most important chapter as it narrates Kṛṣṇalīlā. It consists of 90 cantos. 145th folio and the folios after the 146th folio are missing; Complete / Incomplete: Incomplete MS. No colophon found. Custodial history: One of the oldest libraries in the Hooghly district. Sisir Bani Mandir was established at Guptipara in 1917. The library has a good collection of old Sanskrit and Bengali manuscripts and some rare books in different languages. Cuncura Bartabaha is one of the rarest collections of the library.
