রাজ্যশ্রী (ঐতিহাসিক নাটক)

A drama based on the historical facts of 6th and 7th centuries AD. The role of the leading character Rajyasri, sister of Harshavardhana, the emperor of northern India, placed as a symbol of peace and hermony between the peoples of different religion and faith. Written after World War I and the riot in Bengal and as well as in Calcutta [Kolkata] (1926), the drama also gave a clear message about keeping peace and harmony between different communities. Custodial history: One of the oldest libraries in the Hooghly district. Sisir Bani Mandir was established at Guptipara in 1917. The library has a good collection of old Sanskrit and Bengali manuscripts and some rare books in different languages. Administrative context: The CSSSC, on realising the importance of copying the collection applied for a grant to the EAP against which EAP921 has been awarded. Calendar: Common Calendar.
