Abstract Translation of one of the greatest epic from India, Ramayana, from Sanskrit to Bengali. It is more famous as 'Tulsidashi Ramayana'. Tulsidasa created a milestone by this erudite work. He created all characters of Ramayana by his own imanigasion, especially his created characters were a Bengali by their nature less then their original Aryan features. Custodial history: Shyamal Bera, M.A., Ph.D., live in Howrah district of West Bengal, is a private collector of endangered manuscripts, teracotta objects, Pat (Scroll paintings), folk songs and folk dramas etc of Bengal. By profession he is a school teacher(retired). He is founder secretory of Kolaghat Loksanskriti Gabeshana Kendra o Sangrahashala (Kolaghat Folk Culture Research Centre and Museum) and Dwija Harideva Sangrahashala o Gabeshana Kendra (Dwija Harideva Museum and Research Centre). He is running a Little Magazine on Folk Culture 'Samikshapatra Lokayat' since 2003. He has done many survey project on verious genre, mostly on Folk culture of rural Bengal. Present scanned collections (books, manuscripts and periodicals) have been collected by Shyamal Bera himself. He has generously allowed the archive team to get access to this material for digitization and as per the copyright rules and regulations.
