A part of series of publications about descriptive catalogue of Sanskrit manuscripts in the collection of the Royal Asiatic Society of Bengal. Present volume is about the Astronomical Manuscripts. Custodial history: Shyamal Bera, M.A., Ph.D., live in Howrah district of West Bengal, is a private collector of endangered manuscripts, teracotta objects, Pat (Scroll paintings), folk songs and folk dramas etc of Bengal. By profession he is a school teacher(retired). He is founder secretory of Kolaghat Loksanskriti Gabeshana Kendra o Sangrahashala (Kolaghat Folk Culture Research Centre and Museum) and Dwija Harideva Sangrahashala o Gabeshana Kendra (Dwija Harideva Museum and Research Centre). He is running a Little Magazine on Folk Culture 'Samikshapatra Lokayat' since 2003. He has done many survey project on verious genre, mostly on Folk culture of rural Bengal. Present scanned collections (books, manuscripts and periodicals) have been collected by Shyamal Bera himself. He has generously allowed the archive team to get access to this material for digitization and as per the copyright rules and regulations.
