A weekly journal, “Nihar”, used to be published from Knathi, Midnapore in West Bengal, India. It contains writings on the National Movement. It was a special example of regional newspapers and how they have seen our national movement. Not only national movements or issues, this journal has been created a landmark of continuity. Custodial history: Nihar belonged to the Nihar Press established by Madhusudan Jana and at present his grandson Mr. Nitindranath Jana is the sole owner of the newspaper. The newspapers are located in the ancestral house of Nitindranath Jana from where Nihar used to run till 1989. Administrative context: The CSSSC, on realising the importance of copying the collection applied for a grant to the EAP against which EAP921 has been awarded. Calendar: Common Calendar.
