Meghaduta,(Sanskrit:"Cloud Messenger") lyric love poem in some 115 verses composed by Kalidasa.The Meghduta is the lament of an exiled yaksha who is pining for his beloved on a lonely mountain peak.When,at the beginning of a monsoon,a cloud perches on the peak,he ask it to deliver a message to his love in the Himalaya city of Alaka.Most of the poem,composed in an extremely graceful metre,consists of a description of the landmarks,cities,and sights on the cloud's journey to Alaka.Mallinatha Suri's Sanjivani commentry also available in this book. Custodial history: Established in the year of 1961 this library is a memorial house of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, a well known educationist and social reformer of British India. Birsingha is the birthplace of Vidyasagar. Many books are found which Vidyasagar used to read and gave a foot note on the book pages. Apart from this many manuscripts are also found. They provide all the facilities which can be possible for a rural library to its readers or members.
