In memoriam of Maulvi Abdul Haq, 1870-1961, was a scholar and a linguist, who is also regarded as Baba-e-Urdu. Amir Khusrow was one of the earliest and the most eminent poets to use Urdu language in poetry. Maulvi Abdul Haq is often called the father of the Urdu language.Hasrat Mohani, 1875-1951, was an Indian activist in the Indian Independence Movement, and a noted poet of the Urdu language. He was born Syed Fazl-ul-Hasan and Niaz Fatehpuri was the nom de plume of Niyaz Muhammed Khan,1884-1966 an Urdu poet, writer, and polemicist. He was also the founder and editor of Nigar, which he turned into one of the most prestigious Urdu literary journals in the Indian subcontinent.
