The text is a set of leaves written by diverse persons. The subject treated in each leaf is complete. The leaves have been lightly bitten by rodents, and a few have some traces of larvae infestation. The text, written in prose, describes purification of metals, especially lead (nākam), magnet (kāntam) and lead (karuvaṅkam), of minerals such as cinnabar (liṅkam), mercuric chloride (vīram), calomel (pūram), mica (aprakam), arsenic trisulphide (tāḷakam), arsenic trioxide (veḷḷai pāṭāṇam), arsenic pentasulphide (kauri pāṭāṇam), arsenic compound in form of horse’s denture (kutiraipal pāṣāṇam), zinc carbonate (maṭal tuttam), copper sulphate (turucu) and copper pyrites (poṉ nimiḷai), as well as of plants: Croton tiglium (nērvāḷam), root of Operculina turpethum (civatai vēr) and of Withania somnifera (amukkarā vēr). The text presents the preparations of Uppu centūram, Tāḷaka centūram and Aya centūram, Uppu kaṭṭu as well as of Aṇṭa cuṇṇam used for treating tuberculosis (kācam). It provides some information on the clinical features (laṭcaṇam) of two types of dysentery, curuti cāra and tōṣāticāra, and on the dysenteries which are fatal (acātya aticāra) and curable (cātya cāra). Size of the manuscript: 25,5cm x 3,6cm. The 9 palm leaves of the text are numbered from 2 to 13; the leaves 3,4 and 8 are missing. The manuscript is in good condition; the leaves have been slightly bitten by rodents, and a few have some traces of larvae infestation.
