Title in original script: வைத்திய இரத்தின சுருக்கம் The manuscript is composed of a text written in verses. The 61 palm leaves which composed the text have two numbers: 68 to 128 and 1 to 61; the text is complete. The manuscript is in good condition; some leaves are lightly damaged by larvae and a small part of the 4 last leaves, broken, is missing. The text, written by Akattiyar, is entitled Vaittiya Irattiṉa Curukkam. It approaches two medical topics: pulses and formulations of medicines with the diseases for which they are recommended. Regarding pulses (nāṭi), the text present the method of examination, the state of each pulse, the state of the pulse when vāta, pitta and kapa are high, the diseases resulting from this situation and the medicines appropriate to treat them with their formulation, the quantity of raw material which is required, the adjuvants and the posology. The formulations of medicines are: Rataṉāti cūraṇam and Elāti cūraṇam; Kumara tailam, Vilvāti tailam, komparakku tailam and Piruṅkāmala tailam; Pūmaṇi mattirai; Kaṇṭāttiri lēkiyam, Pañcatīpākkiṉi lēkiyam, Kaṇṭaṅkattiri lēkiyam and Mahā vallāti lēkiyam as well as an electuary called Kūṣmāṇṭa lēkiyam for treating jaundice (kāmālai), anemia (cōkai), fever (asti curam) and veneral diseases (asti veṭṭai, pirammiyam veṭṭai, veḷḷai viḻutal); Kurōcāṉi kuḷikai, as well as pills called Cittānta vairavaṉ and Racāṉanta vairavaṉ for treating delirium (caṉṉi), Vāta rāṭcacaṉ for treating vāta diseases and delirium (caṉṉi); and Kapāṭa māttirai for treating bleeding piles (ratta mūlam), types of dysentery (cala kirāṇi, cīta kirāṇi). Size of the manuscript: 32,5cm x 4,0cm. The palm leaves which composed the text have a double numbering: 68 to 128 and 1 to 61. The manuscript contains 1 blank leaf placed at the beginning.
