தலைப்பு இல்லை (வைத்தியம்)

Title in original script: தலைப்பு இல்லை (வைத்தியம்) The manuscript is constituted of 109 palm leaves on which three parts of text are written and numbered from 1 to 37, 105 to 106 and 31, 32 and 34. The intermediary leaves, also numbered, are blank. A note in the manuscript informs that it belonged to Thangarasu, son of Sudalai Muthu, who wrote in it his medical reports. The manuscript is in excellent condition; the leaves, which were stuck by mould developed in consequence of sandal water sprinkled during rituals (pūja), have been separate without damage. The text, written in prose, presents formulas that Thangarasu recommends to treat jaundice (kāmālai), all types of fever (carva curam), tuberculosis (elumpurukki), gastritis with vomiting (catti kuṉmam), indigestion in infants (ciṟukuḻantai māntam), stomach ache (vayiṟṟu kaṭuppu), flatus (vāyvu), intestinal worms (kīrai pūcci), urinary tract infection (mēkam), oligurea (nīr coṟippu), renal calculus (kallaṭaippu), a venereal disease (paraṅki), recalcitrant ulcers (āṟāta puṇ), fistulous ulcers (narampu cilanti), ulcer in skull (maṇṭai puṇ), carbuncle (vippuruti), pruritis (mēkanīr kaṭuppu), enlargement of lymph node in groin region (araiyāppu), head ache (maṇṭaiyiṭi), sinusitis (pīnicam), morbid thirst (vaṟaṭci). The author provides some remedies to annihilate poison caused by scorpion stings (tēḷ kaṭi viṣam). Size of the manuscript: 23.8cm x 3.0cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered from 1 to 106 an from 31 to 35; the leaves 38 to 102 (not digtised), 105 to 106 and 35 are blank. There are two blank leaves placed at the beginning and the end of the text. The manuscript is in excellent condition; the leaves, which were stuck by mould developed in consequence of sandal water sprinkled during rituals, have been separate without damage.
