சொர்ண வைரவன் மாலை

Title in original script: சொர்ண வைரவன் மாலை The manuscript is composed of a text comprising palm leaves numbered from 1 to 16 on which 31 verses are inscribed. The text is complete. The manuscript is in good condition, some leaves are slightly damaged by rodents. The text, entitled Corṇa Vairavaṉ Mālai, is written in verses. It is formed by hymns addressed to Civaṉ under the name of Corṇa Pairavar and mantiram to the goddess Cakti (mantira cakti pāṭal). The text describes the eight magical acts (aṣṭa karma) comprising: vacīkaraṉam (ability to attract a person under one’s own influence), mōkaṉam (ability to cause libidinous fascination), ākarṣaṇam (ability to make a spirit or an absent person visible), uccāṭaṉam (ability to send demoniac forces on a person to cause his/her ruin by reciting mantiram), tampaṉam (ability to control the natural forces), vitvēṣaṉam (ability to create hatred between two friends), pētaṉam (ability to provoke separation or desertion) and māraṇam (ability to cause death). Size of the manuscript: 18.5cm x 3.5cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered from 1 to 16. Two blank leaves are placed at the beginning and at the end of the text. The manuscript is in good condition, some leaves are slightly damaged by rodents.
