திருப்புகழ்

Title in original script: திருப்புகழ் The manuscript is composed of a text of 12 palm leaves, written in verses. The text, incomplete, contains only few verses whose the numbering seems incorrect. The manuscript is in average condition, all the leaves being partly broken. The text, entitled Tiruppukaḻ, is a song composed by Aruṇakiri Nātar in the praise of Murukāṉ. Aruṇakiri Nātar lived in 14th century and resided in Tiruvaṇṇāmalai; he is known for his great devotion to Murukāṉ. He wrote many texts, among them Kantar Antāti, Kantar Aṉupūti and Kantar Alaṅkāram. Tiruppukaḻ is commonly sung in rhythm (canta pāṭal) in Murukaṉ temples of Tiruccentūr, Paḻaṉi, Tiruttaṇi, Tirupparaṅkuṉṟam etc. Size of the manuscript: 39.0cm x 3.4cm. The text is formed of the leaves n° 24, 27, 39, 40, 42 to 46; 1 leaf with the title placed at the beginning and 6 leaves placed at the end of the manuscript among four are blank. The manuscript is in average condition; many of the leaves are damaged or broken.
