The manuscript is in excellent condition. The author of the text is Ārōkia Caveriyar Pillai. Written in prose, the text celebrates the glory of Mother Mary of the Roman Catholic Church of T. Kaḷḷikuḷam, situated in Tuticorin District. The author mentions that the sermon is based on two poems written by Vīramāmuṇivar (Father Beschi, a Jesuit priest). In a poem of 1100 stanzas named "kittêri ammâle caritiram", Vīramāmuṇivar sings the praises of the martyr St. Quiteria. The other poetical work mentioned in the sermon is the "Tempāvani" (The Unfading Garland), considered as one of the Tamil classic poetry. For information, Siddha medicine is practised by people belonging to all castes and religions; in Kanniyakumari district, many people were converted to Christianity, both Roman Catholicism and Prostestantism, by missionaries.
