கொக்கோகம்

Title in original script: கொக்கோகம் The manuscript is the copy of a book published in 1838 at Chennai completed 15th august 1848. It concerns a text of palm leaves numbered from 1 to 146 which deals with sexology and reproduction. The condition of the manuscript is good. Some leaves are slightly attacked by larvae. The text, entitled Kokkōkam, describes the physical characteristics of male and female and the incompatibility between sexual partners. It informs on the manner to identify the sex of the fetus and on the sexual practices including the appropriate time to have sexual relations for optimizing the pregnancy. The compatibility between sexual partners is presented in terms of features based on caste (cāti laṭcaṇam). The capacity of pregnancy is explained according to the characteristics of genitals (kuṟi laṭcaṇam), age of the partners (paruva laṭcaṇam), and their life energy (amutanilai) in terms of physical and mental ability relating to their age (curata laṭcaṇam) and nature of their work (akatoḻil karaṇa laṭcaṇam). The text presents in tabulation seven positions of sexual intercourse (karaṇam), and details the symptoms of pregnancy. Size of the manuscript: 18.2cm x 3.6cm. The palm leaves are numbered from 1 to 146; 5 leaves are blank. The condition of the manuscript is good. Some leaves are slightly attacked by larvae.
